Dr. Ford completed his undergraduate degree at Princeton University. He received the MD degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
Following his internship at the Montefiore Medical Center, he received training in Ambulatory Anesthesia at the Massachusetts General Hospital, before completing his residency at the Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Subsequently, he completed fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesia, and then in Pain Management. Dr. Ford is Board Certified in Anesthesiology. His career has included Academic appointments at SUNY Downstate Medical Center as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist and he served as Director of Anesthesia at the St. Barnabas Medical Center, in Bronx, NY. Dr. Ford provided Office-Based Anesthesia Services as Pain Management services as President and Medical Director of Ultimate Anesthesia PLLC. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists, and The New York State Pain Society. Which makes him one of the best pain specialists in the country.
Dr. Ford has a deep passion for teaching and preparing the next generation of Anesthesiologists. He has served as a coach and mentor, assisting board-eligible physicians in their preparations for the certification exam of the American Board of Anesthesiology. As the medical director of The Painless Center, with locations in Carlstadt and Tenafly, New Jersey, Chi-Shin Jason Chiu, MD, strives to stay current on the latest advancements in interventional pain management and anesthesia. Dr. Chiu’s compassionate, caring personality makes him a favorite among patients seeking treatment for chronic pain from falls, auto accidents, and degenerative diseases.
Dr. Chiu is double board-certified in Pain Management and Anesthesia by the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologists. He is also part of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
In addition to his work at The Painless Center, Dr. Chiu serves as the director of the Pain Management Division and Anesthesia Medical Education at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. He is also an active faculty member at the St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey.
While pursuing his medical degree, Dr. Chiu spent time at the world-renowned Texas Tech International Grace Clinic’s Pain Management Center in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Chiu’s rotations there sparked his interest in interventional pain management.
Dr. Chiu later completed an internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens and went on to finish his anesthesiology residency at Rutgers University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. For his fellowship training, Dr. Chiu studied at the prestigious John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago.
At The Painless Center, Dr. Chiu offers a variety of methods for relieving chronic pain from injury or illness and creates custom treatment plans to accommodate each patient’s unique health needs.
